Technology Day and African Exploration Showcase

The Target Generation through Technology workshop is aimed at individuals in the exploration and mining industries who wish to learn more about available technologies for target generation and optimizing mining techniques.

Discovering mineral deposits and therefore effective extraction of these deposits is becoming more challenging, and directly linked to this, many companies are bringing out innovative and cutting-edge technology to address these challenges. After all, as Albert Einstein exclaimed (perhaps) “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results”. Our speakers today will show us how new techniques bring about better results.

This workshop is designed to present a broad overview of the specialist fields that are applied in the discovery and development of targets, including remote sensing and spectral imagery, geophysics, geochemistry, structural interpretation and mapping, as well as other non-conventional techniques. These are all critical aspects in greenfields and brownfields project target exploration as well as development of mines.

The African Exploration showcase is an opportunity to be informed of new African projects and current developments. It is an ideal opportunity to learn more about deposits and commodities that could potentially add significant economic value to the continent’s pipeline. The projects being showcased at this year’s event range from diamonds and gemstones through tin and coal to non-traditional oil and gas. Our speakers are from major and junior mining companies, and from large consulting companies to independents, which assures an interesting day.
